Trees are sacred beings- Protect the ancient trees!

Recently I was walking past a woodland that I had walked through since I was a child. My grandad took me through, teaching me the names of the birds, what they sounded like. I was fascinated. It was through my grandad that I have learnt this connection to the birds and to wildlife, although it runs deep in my bones, in my soul.

As I grew up I spent my young life walking around these woods, exploring the TINY pockets of what little woodland we have left in Penwortham, or Lancashire for that matter. Once it was vast ancient woodland called the forest of Lancashire, with flowing streams, deer, wolves, foxes, ancient groves. And what happens, it gets massacred!! Amongst all the spiritual things that people go on about, we have to remember that re- connecting with nature and planting the trees back is our number one priority!! I call it grounded spirituality. But back to the story; I was walking through and at least seven or eight ancient trees, well over 600 years old, one of them my favourite tree, cut down!!! Have these people got no soul! No consciousness! Who in the right mind would actively go through with something like that, treating the trees as pieces of useless wood and then have a good nights sleep!!! We need to wake up. We must stop things like this from happening as best as we can, and for ever tree that gets cut down we must plant 10 more, each! Imagine if each of us planted 10 trees a week, we could have functioning woodlands again within the next 20 years. It truly is up to us. Ancient trees are the most important aspect of a woodland, everything else grows, hunts and grazes alongside it, but the trees are the mother. Hence why we call the ancient trees, MOTHER TREES. The definition of LIFE. Go out into your own local woodland and gaze up at these mighty trees in awe, think about what they have seen, what has come and gone in their lifetime. Once we develop, and TEACH this knowledge to our kids then the problem will be fixed from its ROOTS. Not just bypassed like most things in modern society.
